Émilie wanted to redesign the rear of the home to create an open-plan living space between the kitchen, living room and dining room. She also wanted to rethink the master bedroom to integrate more storage.
Openings were created in the wall separating the study from the living room, and between the kitchen and dining room, to better control the amount of natural light entering the rooms.
In terms of materiality, white oak is used to frame the openings and create harmony with the dining room and kitchen furniture.
An open storage unit inspired by a pothook is installed above the island, adding a touch of timeless color to the kitchen.
